Race Day Instructions
The Southcoast 50 place on the 2nd February 2020. The 50k race starts at 8am on the western end of the promenade in Littlehampton, near to West Green Car Park.
The Start Line is on the promenade itself.
All runners must on the start line by 7.50am
Race Numbers will be posted out by first class post to the address used on the registration
The 50km course is a single East/West leg, from Littlehampton to Portchester. It is a self guided route, with a number of checkpoints along the way. These checkpoints are at the following locations
Bognor Regis (Outside Butlins SCW)
Pagham (Summer Lane)
Chichester (Railway Station)
Emsworth (Queen Street)
Cosham (Atop Portsdown Hill)
A course description and route will be sent out with the race numbers, as will a copy of these instructions.
There is a pay and display car park near to the start for any spectators/supporters.
There is also FREE parking at the finish at Portchester Castle. We are offering transport from Portchester Castle to the Start. The transport will leave Portchester Castle at 6.15am prompt. The start will only delayed for a late arrival of runners using the official transport.
There will be a bag drop available at the start. Bags will be transported to the finish.
There are toilets close to the start. There are also Public Toilets along the route, as well as at the finish.
We have once again engaged the services of our Medical Team. Please seek their advice if you are feeling unwell before the race. During the race, if there is a medical emergency, the first call should be to the Race Director, on 07472 220433. Please put this number into your phone contacts. In the event you are unable to get an answer, you should seek medical assistance by calling 999.
There will be a water at the water/feed stations on the course. Runners must make sure that they declare any allergies to the volunteers manning the feed stations as the food on offer may contain various allergens.
All finishers will receive a medal on the finish line as well as a goody bag.
All runners must be in possession of a fully charged mobile phone and must be carrying enough money to be able to get themselves home should they need to. Runners MUST inform the RD on 07472 220433 if they abandon their race between the check in points.
We would also recommend runners carry a spare pair of dry socks, as part of the course may be covered in surface water.
In the unlikely event this event is cancelled due to circumstances out of our control, every effort will be made to arrange an alternative event, but this cannot be guaranteed. No refunds will be given as a result of either the cancellation, or runners not being able to make the rearranged event.
