RACE DAY INSTRUCTIONS

The Meon Valley Express series of races takes place on the 1st September 2019. The race starts at 9am, following a race brief on the start line at 8.50am.

Number collection is taking place at the Wickham Centre, from 8.00am on race day.

The start and finish is located on the Meon Valley Trail, at the far end of the car park in Station Close, Wickham.

Our chip timing system relies on being able to read the chip that is affixed to your trace number. This MUST be worn on your front, not your side, not your back!

The Trailblazer, Half Marathon, and the 10k will be starting at the same time. The 5k runners will start approximately 5 minutes later to avoid congestion at the first turn point.

Parking

There is free parking at the Wickham Centre and at the free car park in Station Close, alongside the Meon Valley Trail. In the event all the free parking is taken, there is Pay & Display parking in Wickham Square, a 3 minute walk from the start.

Medical Services

We have once again engaged the services of our Medical Team. Please seek their advice if you are feeling unwell before the race. During the race, if there is a medical emergency, the first call should be to the Race Director, on 07472 220433. Please put this number into your phone contacts. In the event you are unable to get an answer, you should seek medical assistance by calling 999.

Water

There will be water stations on the course for the 10k and Half Marathon, but not for the 5k. However, there will be free water at the finish for all runners.

Water stations will be at 5k, 10.5 and 15k.

Once again, we are using bio-degradeable paper cups at the water stations. Please dispose of your cup thoughtfully.

Medals

All finishers will receive a medal. Please ensure you only take the medal that relates to the race you have entered. If you decide to shorten your run, you must ensure you report the fact you have run a shorter race to the race timers, so your race entry can be amended. Anyone who runs a shorter distance than the one they have entered without informing the timers will be disqualified no time recorded.

Great race, well organised, friendly people. Just need to review the race length, I clocked 21.4km, and should have been 21.
